I grew up in Dublin and threw myself into the juggling and street theatre scene at an early age. I then went on to study at Circomedia, Bristol, specialising in Juggling and trapeze and afterwards completing a further education teaching certificate in Circus, graduating in 2001.
After graduating, I co-founded juggling duo, ‘Spot the Drop‘ with Malte Steinmetz, and later ‘Freehand’ with juggler and video artist, Howie Bailey. From 2005 to 2007, I took up the position ‘Head of Juggling’ at the Circus Space (Now National Centre For Circus Arts), London, and continue to teach there on the BA Hons Degree in Circus.
I’ve worked with the core Gandini Juggling group since 2006 and continue to perform with them on their hit show Smashed, 4×4: Ephemeral Architectures as well as helping coordinating some of their more commercial work. I’m also acting as Education and Participation officer with them on a community juggling project, Cascade, culminating in a performance Summer 2018.
The next adventure is currently underway, collaborating with Arron Sparks from Circus Geeks, working on a performance aimed at bringing juggling and storytelling to the younger years. We hope to preview this piece in September 2018.
